I randomly discovered Ravenna Woods one night because my friend Ciaran would not stop raving about them. He really liked Chris Cunningham, their lead singer, who played smaller sets at Molly McGuire’s, where Ciaran used to work. They became friends and Ciaran was always quite proud of that, so off we went.
It turns out Chris is a really sweet guy and we chatted a bit before their set. It was their first time headlining at Neumos and they were stoked. I love their sound, it’s almost hypnotizing. Melodic and rhythmic and played with clearly a lot of heart and passion. I’ve only them a couple times since, but I would check them out if you ever get a chance.
