Finally a perfect day at the Lake (July 2010)
I’ve been told that Picture Lake is one of the most photographed areas in the world. It doesn’t surprise me because it’s incredibly easy to get to. Located almost at the end of SR 542 (Mount Baker Highway), this lake is surrounded by the beautiful North Cascades. The main feature is Mt. Shuksan, but is not to be completely in the spotlight with nine glacier peaks that surround the lake. I have stopped at this lake one too many time whenever I am on a hike out in the area. It seems like passing it by would be such a waste when it’s literally right off the road. Anyone on their way to the Mt. Baker Ski Resort has stopped by. If you are ever in the Mt. Baker area I woud highly recommend a stop by.
