Random Turkish findings

Every Friday in Avanos, there is a local bazzar. Every couple of weeks, we make one giant trip to buy food for the hotel. It’s a beautiful and chaotic market with everything from socks to the latest produce from local farms.

Unal’s beautiful mom on one of the terraces, collecting grape leaves to make dolmates.

One of the days I was wandering around town, I walked throug ha carpet shop I’ve walked by a million times before, but saw a lovely turkish woman sitting outside working on something. I was intrigued and came closer. Turns out she was hand weaving a rug. It looked like the most tedious thing I have ever seen. And she was so fast! She was so sweet she invited me to sit with her and even offerred me some water. she didn’t speak English, but we both enjoyed each other’s company I think.
