We are 12 – Lake 22 and Granite Mountain

To wish our boys luck I carried a 12th man flag to finish the season.

The best part was when I found out someone recognized me from twitter days later!

Apparently it worked because the guys went on to win the NFC Championship in an EPIC battle. So naturally, we made another trek before the Superbowl to send good vibes. We needed the challenge to be harder so we chose:

Granite Mountain

Granite Mountain is  special mountain for me. It was the place of my first solo hike 6 years ago. 8.6 miles round trip with 3,800 feet elevation gain However, hiking it in early fall was much different than late winter! And I don’t remember it being so steep…either way it was an incredible hike and well worth the sketchy scramble at the end.

You can see the last scramble to the lookout at the top.
